Malta and Europe host engineering teams building sportsbook platforms, casino game engines, payment systems and data pipelines that handle millions of daily transactions. The scale is genuinely demanding: an odds engine has to reprice thousands of markets in real time, and a wallet system cannot lose a cent.

Backend engineers work in Java, Go, Python and C# on core platform services, odds engines, wallet systems, bonus logic and regulatory reporting. Frontend engineers use React, Angular or Vue to build player experiences that survive heavy traffic during major sporting events. Mobile engineers tackle real-time data delivery for live betting and casino streaming.

Roles are listed in Malta and across Europe, and engineering is among the most remote-friendly functions in the industry.

Salary ranges: EUR 30,000 to 40,000 for junior developers, 40,000 to 55,000 at mid-level, and 55,000 to 75,000 for senior and lead roles. Staff and principal engineers at major operators exceed 80,000.

Key skills: Strong fundamentals in at least one backend language, plus PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes. Frontend roles want TypeScript with a modern framework. Understanding regulated environments is a real differentiator, and engineers who grasp the business logic behind the product advance faster than those who don't.
