Quality Assurance in iGaming carries more consequence than in most software. A bug in a betting slip settles the wrong way. A fault in a payment flow costs real money in both directions. A defect in a bonus calculation can be exploited faster than you can patch it, and a compliance-related failure gets reported to a regulator.

Manual QA testers work through test cases across web and mobile, often against a matrix of markets, languages and regulatory variants. Automation engineers build and maintain frameworks in Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or Appium, and increasingly own the CI pipeline the tests run in. Performance testers make sure the platform holds up when a major fixture kicks off and traffic multiplies within a minute.

Roles are listed in Malta and across Europe, and QA is one of the more remote-friendly engineering functions.

Salary ranges: EUR 24,000 to 32,000 for manual QA, 28,000 to 38,000 for junior automation engineers, 38,000 to 50,000 at mid-level, and 50,000 to 60,000 for senior automation engineers and QA leads.

Key skills: For manual roles, methodical test design and bug reports a developer can act on without asking questions. For automation, working knowledge of Java, Python or JavaScript, framework experience and CI integration. Domain understanding of betting and casino mechanics is a real advantage, because knowing what should happen is half of testing it.
