iGaming Legal & Compliance Jobs

Compliance is among the fastest-growing functions in iGaming, and Malta is where much of the expertise sits. Every MGA-licensed operator needs compliance officers, regulatory specialists and legal counsel to meet obligations under the Gaming Act, EU directives and the conditions attached to each licence it holds.

The day-to-day is policy drafting, regulatory correspondence, licence applications and variations, audit preparation, and liaison with the MGA and other regulators. As operators enter newly regulated markets, multi-jurisdictional experience has become the most valuable thing on a compliance CV. Legal counsel roles cover commercial contracts, supplier agreements and intellectual property alongside the regulatory work.

Roles are listed in Malta and across Europe. Compliance is one of the functions where the licence, not the office, determines where you can work, so geography matters more here than in most.

Salary ranges: EUR 28,000 to 40,000 for junior compliance officers, 40,000 to 55,000 at mid-level, and 55,000 to 80,000 for senior roles and heads of compliance.

Key skills: Precision, clear written work that will be read by a regulator, and the confidence to say no to commercial colleagues. ICA and ACAMS certifications carry weight. Legal and financial services backgrounds transfer directly.
