Role Purpose
The Head of Human Resources (Malta) will collaborate with global HR leadership to drive and professionalise the company’s HR function, with primary responsibility for Malta while contributing to global alignment.
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic direction with operational oversight. The successful candidate will strengthen HR governance, ensure multi-jurisdictional compliance, build scalable people infrastructure, and support business growth through effective workforce planning and talent strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute a global HR strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organisational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
- Lead organisational structuring and succession planning initiatives.
- Drive a cohesive culture across global offices while respecting regional differences.
Global HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations globally, including payroll, employment contracts, policies, and benefits administration.
- Ensure full compliance with labour laws and regulatory frameworks across all jurisdictions.
- Establish and maintain governance standards and HR controls.
- Standardise and continuously improve onboarding, offboarding, and performance management processes across all regions.
- Manage complex employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
HR Systems, Analytics & Workforce Planning
- Lead global HR systems strategy, including HRIS optimisation and implementation where .
- Develop HR dashboards and reporting frameworks to provide visibility on headcount, turnover, performance, and workforce costs.
- Drive workforce planning in alignment with company growth projections.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and actionable people analytics.
Compensation, Performance & Culture
- Oversee compensation structures, benchmarking, and benefits frameworks to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
- Monitor and implement requirements related to the EU Pay Transparency Directive, ensuring pay structures, reporting, and internal practices remain compliant.
- Implement structured performance management systems that promote accountability and development.
- Strengthen employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, ownership, and high performance across global teams.
Continuous Improvement & Scalability
- Build scalable HR infrastructure to support future international expansion.
- Introduce automation and process efficiencies where appropriate.
- Ensure HR policies and practices evolve with business growth and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience overseeing global HR operations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of international labour law and compliance (EU exposure preferred).
- Experience implementing or optimising HRIS systems and reporting frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning and scaling organisations.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to align HR initiatives with business performance.
- Experience in fast-paced industries such as tech, media, iGaming, or international events is a strong advantage.
