We are looking for a Compliance Officer to support and maintain the company’s compliance framework. The successful candidate will ensure we meet regulatory obligations, follow internal policies, and foster a strong culture of compliance across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Maintain and update the compliance risk register, ensuring it accurately reflects current risks, mitigations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular spot checks and compliance audits across different departments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. 
  • Regulatory Engagement and Reporting: Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, managing communications and submissions of required reports and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports, highlighting any incidents of non-compliance, and provide recommendations for improvements to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. 
  • Compliance Project Coordination: Coordinate compliance-related projects, ensuring they align with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of jurisdiction-specific reports, ensuring deadlines are met with accurate and comprehensive data. 
  • Training and Liaison: Develop and conduct training programs for personnel on jurisdiction-specific rules and regulations, promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Liaise with various departments to provide compliance guidance and clarification on relevant laws and regulatory mandates. 
  • Policy Development Support: Assist in the review and development of company policies and procedures to safeguard compliance with jurisdictional laws and regulations. 
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes, advising on necessary updates to internal policies and practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Participate in the evaluation of compliance risks and the implementation of effective strategies to mitigate exposure. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams in the resolution of compliance issues as they arise. 
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities that may reasonably be required associated with the role. 

Requirements:

  •  Competent in risk assessment
  • A degree in Law, Business or another relevant field would be considered an asset
  • Self-motivated and take ownership in a dynamic environment with a positive, 'can-do' mindset
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Organised and quality-oriented with a keen eye for detail 
  • Effective communicator across all levels of the business 
  • Great problem-solving skills 
  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion
