About the role

We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant on a full-time basis to form part of the Finance and Accounting team, and who will be reporting to the Head of Finance. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of accounting records as well as assisting the Head of Finance with the preparation of management accounts.

What you'll do

  • Managing the collection of receivable balances;
  • Issuing and / or reviewing of invoices
  • Managing the payroll process;
  • Preparing and / or reviewing revenue & profit share workings
  • Supervising and guiding junior team members to ensure accuracy and up-to-date bookkeeping of both the payables and receivables ledgers;
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts;
  • Compiling / reviewing and submitting quarterly VAT returns and Recap declarations;
  • Assisting in year-end processes, preparing financial statements, and liaising with auditors to perform statutory audit and maintain an effective working relationship with them;
  • Preparing reports, bank reconciliations and other related ad-hoc analysis;
  • Liaising with other departments and stakeholders within the company to ensure effective communication and provide / obtain the necessary information whenever required;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance (depending upon the need and urgency of tasks).

What we're looking for

  • In possession of a degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification, or in the final stages of attaining said qualification
  • At least 3-4 years work experience working in a similar position
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Trustworthy, and detail oriented
  • Strong communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work diligently on own initiative to meet deadlines
  • Be an effective team player with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Work experience within audit / taxation background is an asset
