QA Environments and Automation Manager

A taste of what you’ll do 

• Own and optimize all QA environments (Test, Staging, UAT) across the product ecosystem.
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable test automation and deployment pipelines that support rapid, reliable releases in an iGaming environment.
• Partner with DevOps, Platform/Infrastructure, and Software Engineering to ensure testability, reproducibility, and resilience of QA capabilities

• Environment Strategy & Governance
  • Define and maintain standardized QA environments (configuration, test data, and access controls).
  • Maintain a single source of truth for all test environments.
  • Ensure environment parity across development, test, staging, and production where feasible.
  • Implement best practices such as feature flags and blue/green deployment strategies where appropriate.
  Test Automation & Tooling
  • Implement and operate environment-facing automation within the tooling stack agreed with Development Managers.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution.
  • Manage automated test data setup, cleanup processes, and synthetic data generation.
  Reliability & Observability
  • Define acceptance criteria, smoke tests, and health checks for each QA environment.
  • Monitor test run reliability and proactively triage test flakiness.
  • Collaborate with SRE/Platform teams to ensure appropriate monitoring, logging, and alerting across test environments.
  Collaboration & Governance
  • Work closely with QA Engineers, Software Engineers, DevOps, and Product teams to align testing strategies with product roadmaps.
  • Establish and maintain technical standards for environments, test data management, and automation execution.
  People & Process
  • Act as a technical coach on automation frameworks and QA environments.
  • Lead ongoing training initiatives on new testing tools and environment automation techniques.
  • Drive continuous improvement in QA environment processes and automation maturity.
  Compliance & Security
  • Ensure QA environments comply with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements specific to the iGaming industry (including KYC/PCI-like considerations).
  • Implement data masking and secure data handling practices in non-production environments.

Who and what we are after? 

• Degree in IT or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation within a complex product ecosystem (APIs, web/mobile UIs, real-time components) and CI/CD integration.
• Experience working within a regulated or quasi-regulated industry, preferably iGaming or gambling technology.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages commonly used in testing (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Shell scripting).
• Familiarity with PHP/MySQL as relevant to the existing technology stack.
• Deep understanding of test data management, environment provisioning, and release management processes.
• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) is considered an asset.
• Excellent collaboration, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with confidence working across multiple teams simultaneously.

You will stand out if you

• ISTQB or equivalent certification.
• Experience with performance and load testing in high-traffic gaming environments.
• Experience with live operations testing (e.g., live casino platforms, real-time betting flows).
