The Affordability Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring player protection and regulatory compliance within the iGaming industry, with a primary focus on the highly-regulated Netherlands market.

This role is dedicated to the meticulous review of customer documentation and financial data to ensure a safe and sustainable gaming environment. You will perform essential checks on customer affordability, enabling responsible increases in player limits while mitigating financial and reputational risks for the business.

This position is vital for streamlining our processes, freeing up the core Responsible Gambling (RG) team for more complex tasks, and ensuring we meet the highest standards of player safety.

This role has a Monday-Friday schedule with office hours.

Responsibilities: 

  • Daily affordability analysis and review: Conducting daily reviews on different reports, such as low affordability, high affordability, and customers whose affordability has dramatically decreased, to ensure accurate and responsible NDT’s have been applied.
  • Document and kreditz reviews: Ensuring documents and kreditz which have been submitted are correct and up to date.
  • Department escalations: Escalating cases to the relevant teams or analysis to ensure concerning cases are handled following both RG and AML procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Frequent checks to ensure systems and formulas are running correctly as per business decision. 
  • Product review and implementation: Exploring existing and new products available on the market, to stay informed about potential improvements for the business in terms of cost, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Reporting: Creating and sharing reports with management at routine time intervals to give a clear overview of on-going projects, daily tasks, potential pain points, or any compliance risk which may arise.
  • Ad Hoc projects: Taking on new projects for business and department progression as directed by the Head of Responsible Gambling, or Responsible Gambling Team Leader. 
  • Making suggestions to the business for streamlining the procedure and systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a detail-oriented, analytical role, preferably within a compliance, financial services, or iGaming environment.
  • Strong understanding of responsible gambling principles and regulatory requirements, particularly in the Netherlands market.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in reviewing documentation and financial data.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and a strong ability to identify patterns and anomalies.
  • Proactive and independent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A passion for promoting responsible gambling and player protection.
