Reporting to the Game Studio Manager, you will own the front-end client of our next-generation video slot games. Working hand-in-hand with Game Designers, Game Producers, and the Platform Team, you’ll turn creative concepts into visually stunning, high-performing HTML5 titles. Your mandate: push the limits of TypeScript and PIXI.js to deliver flawless animations, silky-smooth gameplay, and rock-solid performance on every device. This position is open at Senior or Lead level, depending on experience and appetite for mentoring and light line-management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Build World-Class Slot Clients
- Develop, refactor, and polish video slot games in TypeScript/PIXI.js, ensuring fast load times, responsive layout, and impeccable animation quality.
- Collaborate Across the Studio
- Work closely with Game Design & Production to iterate on features, visuals, and UX until they shine.
- Partner with the Platform Team to integrate and maintain cross-game features (jackpots, live data feeds, in-game lobby, promotional hooks).
- Performance & Quality
- Profile and optimise rendering, memory, and asset pipelines to guarantee high fps across desktop and mobile.
- Debug and resolve client issues in collaboration with QA, driving toward bugfree, on-time releases.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Implement and update client features to meet multi-jurisdiction regulations (e.g., reality checks, game-history, responsible-gaming messaging).
- Technical Leadership (Lead level)
- Conduct code reviews, define best practices, and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of clean, maintainable code.
- Process & Tooling
- Enhance internal build, localisation, and deployment tools; explore and embed AI-powered solutions that raise productivity and quality (e.g., art upscaling, test automation, code generation).
- Operate comfortably within Jira (task tracking) and Confluence (documentation) for transparent, agile delivery.
- Any other task/responsibility which may be related and/or connected to your role as Frontend Game Developer
Qualifications
- 5 + years of JavaScript / TypeScript game-development experience with a strong portfolio of web-based slot or casino titles.
- Advanced knowledge of PIXI.js (or similar WebGL / canvas framework) and modern ES6+ patterns.
- Strong understanding of the iGaming B2B supply chain and certification cycles.
- Familiarity with Spine or similar skeletal animation tools.
- Hands-on experience integrating jackpots, lobby systems or other shared services via HTTP / WebSocket APIs.
- Expertise in mobile-browser performance profiling, optimisation and debugging.
- Fluency with Git, Jira, Confluence and CI / CD workflows.
- Proven ability to be a mentor to fellow developers.
