We’re looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager who thrives at the intersection of technical leadership and hands-on coding. You’ll lead a team of ~13 engineers, shaping team culture, ensuring delivery of high-quality software, and actively contributing to codebases built in Java or .NET. This role requires someone who is just as comfortable in code reviews and architecture discussions as they are in one-on-ones and OKR planning.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead by Example – Technically & Culturally
- Roll up your sleeves and contribute to core codebases when needed (Java/.NET).
- Set high standards for engineering excellence, with a focus on quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Foster a culture of accountability, empathy, and continuous improvement.
People Management & Growth
- Coach and mentor a team of ~13 engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
- Create a collaborative and inclusive team environment where engineers feel valued and motivated.
- Celebrate team wins and address challenges with a proactive, supportive approach.
Execution & Delivery
- Drive the execution of business-critical software projects, ensuring reliable and timely delivery.
- Work closely with Product, QA, and Operations to align on priorities and outcomes.
- Unblock team members, refine delivery processes, and improve velocity through best practices and technical leadership.
Team Health & Scalability
- Own team structure, hiring, and onboarding as the team scales.
- Monitor and optimize key metrics like engagement, throughput, and code quality.
- Champion continuous improvement, leveraging data to inform decision-making while keeping people at the center.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing teams of 10+ engineers.
- Proven hands-on coding experience in Java and/or .NET, and strong architectural sensibilities.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills—empathetic, direct, and inspiring.
- Ability to balance people leadership with technical involvement in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, QA, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in back-office systems, operations tooling, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with team performance frameworks (OKRs, metrics-driven management).
- Experience scaling teams or leading through organizational change.
