We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a proven track record in the iGaming industry, particularly in startup and mid-size companies. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of financial leadership, strategic thinking, FP&A process improvements, and hands-on operational experience to drive the company's growth and financial health. Responsibilities:
- Financial Performance Evaluation: Assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization through qualitative and structured presentation documents, ensuring alignment with long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Department Leadership: Take full ownership of the Financial Department, leading both strategic and operational functions.
- Finance and Accounting Oversight: Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and internal control.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities.
- Policy Development: Lead the development and implementation of best-practice policies, practices, and tools to ensure a well-controlled, yet flexible, organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross-team communications, and workflow.
- Profitability and Budget Management: Manage profitability, corporate finance, budget development, and forecasting to support organizational goals.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure effective internal controls are in place and maintain compliance with all relevant financial and tax reporting laws and regulations.
- Financial Advisory: Provide Senior Management with strategic advice on the financial implications of business activities and decisions.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Perform risk assessments by analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks affecting the company. Propose and implement mitigation strategies.
- Tax Strategy: Analyze the current company situation and propose ways to reduce tax liability across jurisdictions.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze internal operations, identify areas for cost reduction, and enhance processes to improve efficiency.
- Treasury Management: Actively manage the company's treasury on a day-to-day basis, ensuring optimal liquidity and investment strategies.
- Directorship responsibilities as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in senior financial management roles, with a strong background in the iGaming industry (online casinos, sports betting, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience in startup or mid-sized company environments, where adaptability and versatility are key.
- Proven track record in scaling financial operations and successfully managing financial complexities in a fast-growth business.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or equivalent is a plus).
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements within the iGaming sector.
- Strong proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, budgeting tools, etc.).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills in English and French languages.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a startup or mid-sized company environment.
- Experience in international financial management and multi-jurisdictional tax planning.
- Ability to balance strategic financial oversight with a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure situations.
