Altenar is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to work closely with Product, Business, and Technology teams, applying analytical techniques to answer business questions and shape strategic decisions. This role requires communication skills and the ability to translate complex problems into clear requirements and robust well-documented solutions. You will be expected to demonstrate familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, reporting, dashboarding and statistical analysis. 

We are looking for someone with strong intellectual curiosity, who thrives in multicultural environments, learns new technologies quickly, and takes ownership of delivering high-quality results. The successful candidate will play a key role in Altenar’s data strategy by diving deep into our data-warehouse architecture, extracting business value from data, and supporting reporting and dashboarding initiatives across the organization.

Job Description

A Business Intelligence Developer at Altenar will:

  • Maintain and improve core skills in SQL and Python for analytical processing
  • Develop a deep understanding of Altenar’s data warehouse environment
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to define questions and topics of data exploration
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Automation Engineers and Infrastructure Engineers on data ingestion, movement, and storage strategies
  • Build, test, and deploy analytical applications in a structured and organized manner
  • Perform descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics
  • Deliver dashboards and reports using our BI tools aligned with stakeholder requirements
  • Explore, evaluate, and help design new data services and tooling
  • Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation

Desired Skills

  • Strong experience with Python and data manipulation libraries
  • Advanced SQL querying and optimization skills
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience with Git (or other version control tools) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities
  • Hands-on experience with one or more BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Solid foundation in mathematics and statistics
  • Highly motivated and self-driven, capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

 

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience with column-store databases such as Clickhouse
  • Direct experience with AaaS (Analytics as a Service) platforms
  • Experience with Spark SQL and Spark Structured Streaming
  • Basic experience with JS-based web technologies
