We are seeking a highly motivated AML Compliance Assistant to join our dynamic team in Malta.
Role overview:
- Assist in the customer onboarding process by evaluating and extracting key information from customer-submitted documents, such as licences and regulatory filings, to support the AML Manager’s reporting and risk rating assessments.
- Support due diligence reviews by monitoring outstanding documentation, coordinating follow-ups with customers based on the AML Manager’s assessments, and ensuring all records remain current and compliant.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a structured database for C-level executives and Directors’ due diligence data, ensuring consistency and efficiency in licensing and corporate governance processes.
- Distinguish between standard KYC outcomes and those requiring manual escalation—such as PEP screenings, adverse media hits, or incomplete ID uploads—and exercise sound judgment to escalate only cases that warrant AML Manager review.
- Log and maintain entries in internal tracking systems, applying defined naming conventions and documentation protocols to ensure audit-readiness and operational clarity.
- Maintain and regularly update internal Excel trackers used for due diligence, ensuring accuracy of records related to onboarding progress, document status, and compliance reviews.
