We are looking for a Head of Corporate Legal and Regulatory.




Position Summary



The Head of Legal Corporate and Regulatory will be responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory aspects of the Business. This includes ensuring compliance with international and gaming regulations, managing legal risks, and leading the corporate legal function. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the online gaming industry, a deep understanding of compliance issues, and the ability to lead a legal team in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities



Duties will include, but are not limited to:




  • Legal Strategy and Leadership:

    • Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy in alignment with business objectives.

    • Lead and manage the in-house legal team, providing mentorship and guidance.

    • Advise the executive team on legal risks, compliance issues, and regulatory changes.



  • Compliance Management:

    • Ensure the company complies with all relevant gaming regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

    • Oversee the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.

    • Monitor changes in legislation, analyse their impact, and implement necessary adjustments to the company's operations.



  • Corporate Governance:

    • Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring adherence to best practices.

    • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of key contracts, agreements, and partnerships.

    • Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio and ensure its protection.



  • Regulatory Affairs:

    • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, maintaining open and constructive relationships.

    • Represent the company in regulatory investigations and audits.

    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory authorities.



  • Risk Management:

    • Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with the company’s operations.

    • Provide guidance on dispute resolution, litigation, and other legal proceedings.

    • Develop and maintain a crisis management plan to address potential legal challenges.



  • Ethical Standards & Training:

    • Promote a culture of integrity and ethical behaviour within the company.

    • Develop and deliver training programs on legal and compliance matters for employees.

    • Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to the company’s legal and compliance policies.





Requirements




  • Must be based in Malta.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; admission to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within the online gaming or gambling industry.

  • Extensive knowledge of gaming laws, regulations, and licensing requirements in key jurisdictions.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and provide sound legal advice in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
