Play North Ltd is looking for a Compliance Manager to join the dedicated compliance team. We are looking for a proven leader with extensive compliance management experience in international, highly regulated markets.

This opportunity is suited to professionals with a strong record of senior-level experience. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for shaping compliance strategy across multiple markets, advising the Board, and making high-level decisions with significant business impact.

  • Assisting the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer in managing regulatory compliance matters, including but not limited to RG, AML, Fraud, and any other compliance-related tasks.
  • Reporting directly to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and acting as their delegate in regulatory matters when required.
  • The role demands making autonomous, high-impact decisions under tight regulatory deadlines, with accountability at both operational and reputational levels.
  • Ensuring that all compliance processes and procedures comply with the relevant regulations and laws.
  • Act as a senior advisor to Marketing, Product, Operations, and Legal functions, ensuring strategic alignment between compliance and business growth.
  • Acting as appointed Responsible Gambling Representative with the KSA if required.
  • Playing a key role in the Risk Management framework development and application including incident handling ensuring that company operations comply with both internal and external standards.
  • Playing a key role in mentoring, coaching, and developing team members in compliance, and  building a resilient, knowledgeable team

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering on the vision, mission, and strategies of the areas of the business (RG, AML, Fraud, Product, etc) based on Compliance standards
  • Frequent engagement with regulators, auditors, and legal bodies, often under strict deadlines, necessary to build and foster optimal collaborative relationships.
  • Leading license applications in key market/s
  • Ensuring core policies and procedures are reviewed, updated, and implemented adequately
  • Ensuring that the Terms and Conditions on our websites are being reviewed and renewed when necessary and checking all areas of the websites to ensure that regulatory requirements for the jurisdiction are being respected from a product perspective
  • Completing and submitting all compliance reports within the given deadlines
  • Liaising with different departments or testing labs, in order to complete the regulatory audits and reports when necessary
  • Collaborating with internal and external auditors and ensuring successful completion of mandatory audits
  • Leading and managing any change management procedures
  • Keeping track of the regulatory changes and informing the business accordingly where applicable
  • Proposing solutions to regulatory compliance issues
  • Assisting in ad hoc duties as and when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in Compliance, Risk, or Auditing, with a proven track record of leading multi-jurisdictional teams and complex regulatory projects.
  • Deep expertise and hands-on experience with reputable jurisdictions - (Dutch,Portuguese) and relevant legislation would be considered an asset
  • A law degree or equivalent advanced qualification in compliance, auditing, or risk management is strongly preferred
  • Proven history of negotiating directly with regulators and successfully leading companies through inspections, audits, and licensing reviews
  • Proficient Communication Skills
  • Effective problem-solving and ability to take initiative
  • Critical Thinking Ability and great organizational skills

  • Strong People Skills
  • Attention to detail
